The Napa Valley Wine Library Association announces its 50th anniversary celebration that will take place the weekend of Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19.  The festivities commence with a seminar at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena, “Toast to the Future: the Next Generations.”  A dozen vintners will present their wines while discussing the challenges and opportunities faced by family wineries.  Second, third and even fifth generation vintners will focus on daily operations, the vineyards or the winery, with questions and answers after each panel discussion moderated by noted wine commentator and author, Allen Balik.

The festivities continue on Sunday in the Oak Grove at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, with the Library’s 50th Annual Tasting, “Toast to History: Vintner’s Choice.”  One hundred Napa Valley wineries will participate in the tasting, pouring two wines, a current release and an older vintage,

Since its founding in the 1960s, the Napa Valley Wine Library Association has been an exceptional resource for wine education in Napa Valley, maintaining an extensive collection of materials for wine-related studies at the St. Helena Public Library.

Saturday’s seminar is $95.  To register for the seminar visit http://www.napawinelibrary.com.  For more information call Diana Stockton, Events Administrator, 707-478-9829 or email here at editor@napawinelibrary.com.

The Annual Tasting is free for all members.  Membership is $75.00 or $80.00 on the day of the tasting.  To become a member and receive an invitation to the 50th Anniversary Tasting please visit http://www.napawinelibrary.com.
