The Napa Valley Wine Library Association announces its 50th anniversary celebration that will take place the weekend of Saturday, August 18 and Sunday, August 19. The festivities commence with a seminar at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in St. Helena, “Toast to the Future: the Next Generations.” A dozen vintners will present their wines while discussing the challenges and opportunities faced by family wineries. Second, third and even fifth generation vintners will focus on daily operations, the vineyards or the winery, with questions and answers after each panel discussion moderated by noted wine commentator and author, Allen Balik.
The festivities continue on Sunday in the Oak Grove at Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, with the Library’s 50th Annual Tasting, “Toast to History: Vintner’s Choice.” One hundred Napa Valley wineries will participate in the tasting, pouring two wines, a current release and an older vintage,
