 open bottles of rose [1]

This is the last article on the 2013 Rosés (to read the others click here [2] and  click here [3]).  Don’t worry about buying rosés too late in the season. They will keep fine and I will have an article on that soon (just a hint – most French Rosés keep exceptionally well). Seemingly more than ever, there are many terrific rosés in the 2013 vintage. So buy some to keep for the warm days ahead and for the holidays and you can even cellar a few for enjoyment in future years. Below are notes on a few additional rosés from all over the world:

2013 Golbelsburger Cistercien Rosé
This is the first rosé I have ever had from Austria. Like most Austrian wines it is lovely with a lot of finesse. The alcohol is 12% and the color is pale orange with a golden hue. The wine has a lovely floral perfume with hints of peach and apricot and is delicate, crisp, and bright. The flavors also follow through with a delicate fruitiness and faint hints of peach and citrus. Very nicely balanced and easy to drink this rosé is lovely with Asian food – Outstanding.      $14   Best Buy  A Terry Thiese Selection Imported by Michael Skurnik Syosset, NY

2013 Montes Cherub Rosé of Syrah Colchagua Valley
Reddish pink in color this rosé has a faintly smoky floral perfume. It is straight forward and fruity with citrus tinged berry fruit – Recommended.   $11.99
