Well, if you will excuse me, I guess I was barking up the wrong tree. Even though I love dogs (we have 4 – all rescue dogs), this one is a real howler. Would you believe that  a winery for dogs, named for the French bulldog of Raymond Vineyards proprietor Jean-Charles Boisset, has opened in the Napa Valley? It’s true. The winery is called Frenchie Winery.

 Here is a partial list of the things offered at Frenchie Winery:

• A tasting room designed especially for dogs
• Wine barrel dog beds
• Above the beds, in the “Gallery of Frenchie”, canvas portraits depicting Frenchie as historical icons such as George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Julius Caesar and Marie Antoinette
• A “Barkarrat” chandelier
• A vineyard, planted to Bordeaux varieties, named Frenchie’s bioDOGnamic

And, yes, surprise!  There are Frenchie wines :

• 2009 Frenchie Napoleon Red Blend
• 2009 Frenchie Louis XIV Cabernet Sauvignon
